Product purification and separation - a suspension based melt crystallization approach
Chemical industry is very much concerned with the separation and purification of chemical compounds. Impurities generally represent wasted product and cause undesirable variation to the final product quality. Specific impurities can damage catalyst and lead to failure of downstream processes.

Lactic acid and its potential applications in industries
Lactic acid is the simplest hydroxyl carboxylic acid with an asymmetrical
carbon atom. It is produced by either fermentation or chemical synthesis.
Lactic acid is widely used in various industries such as food, cosmetic,
pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. It is mainly used as a monomer for the production of the bio degradable poly lactic acid (PLA).

Microbial desalination of ground water using bacteria bacillus subtilis
The salinity (hardness, both temporary and permanent) of the ground
water in general is due the presence of bicarbonates, chloride and
sulphate salts of calcium (Ca +2 ), magnesium (Mg +2 ) and metal ions.
Certain species of microbes have been found to adsorb surprisingly
large quantities of metals from aqueous solutions. Bacterial surfaces
have great affinity to sorb and precipitate metals resulting in metal
concentration on bacterial surface.

Optimization of fixed bed defluoridation process using neural networks
The study of defluoridation of water using activated alumina was done
by experimentation on continuous fixed bed column at various flowrates
and pH values. Percent fluoride removal as a function of flowrate and pH
was related for the given feed ion concentration using breakthrough curves. This breakthrough curve data was fed to a artificial neural network. The network was trained and used to find the optimum operating conditions for the process.

Multicomponent separation: Process design for fractional
crystallization from solution
This paper relates to a process of obtaining NaCl and Na2CO3 in purer form by crystallization in presence of each other and also another solute and water as solvent. Crystallization of multiple solutes from common solvent, known as fractional crystallization, demand knowledge of multiple saturation solubility with respect to temperature. A systematic procedure is presented for the identification of alternative process designs for fractional crystallizations for solution. A framework is proposed for the "process designs for fractional crystallization from
solution" in the rotary vacuum evaporator.

Two phase flow heat transfer and pressure drop studies in a once-through helical coil heat exchanger
The aim of the present work is to study the two-phase flow pressure drop and connvective heat transfer in helical coil. Since the coil is a suitable device for boiling in the absence of gravity, it provides excellent effect of heat transfer.
